GIRO and Lothian are pleased to announce the expansion of their long-term partnership. Operating in Edinburgh and the Lothians, Lothian is integrating new operations modules into its HASTUS suite to advance their electric bus transition and modernise workforce management systems, helping improve the employee experience. Developed by GIRO, HASTUS is an industry-leading optimisation software solution used by the most advanced public transportation authorities and operators worldwide. 

New HASTUS modules for vehicle and crew scheduling, as well as operations modules, will allow Lothian to make their service provision more efficient. Robust vehicle management modules will help them roll out their mixed fleet of electric buses by digitalising their yard management and optimise charging, energy use and costs. Flexible employee solutions will modernise the processes that Lothian employees rely on to request days off and swap duties, as well as offer automations for regulatory compliance and payroll.  

These additions to Lothians’ HASTUS suite will complement their existing solution by helping to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, save time for employees, and make its service more adaptable. Lothian will also be adding HASTUS’ rich reporting capabilities and leveraging them to track key performance indicators every step of the way. “We're excited to further strengthen our partnership with GIRO.” said Sarah Boyd, Managing Director at Lothian. “HASTUS has played a key role in enhancing the efficiency of our scheduling for many years.
